The pleasant season invites us to blend outdoor activities with country exploration. Today, we invite you to join us on a day trip to Hatta, a town near the Oman border, about 1.5 hours’ drive from Dubai. Located in the heart of the arid Hajar mountains, Hatta is adorned with flowers and is famous for its charming historical Heritage Village, which is open to visitors. Hatta is best known for its rugged mountain peaks and wild surroundings, offering a refreshing escape for unique experiences. From kayaking and cycling to picnicking and walking, here are some must-do activities for a fulfilling day trip
A short drive from Heritage Village, head towards the Hatta Dam and park your car at the top. Here, you can admire a huge mural depicting the founding fathers of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, recently inaugurated as part of the Dubai Street Museum project. From the heights of the dam, you’ll have an incredible view of the turquoise waters of Hatta Lake. You can walk along the top of the dam and descend on foot to the water's edge. Hatta Lake The Hatta Kayak water sports center is conveniently located in a kiosk below and is well-signposted. They offer a variety of rentals to enjoy the lake, including kayaks, pedal boats, and other unique options. The center is open daily from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. While advance reservations are not possible, there’s no need to worry—over a hundred kayaks are available, and during peak times, rentals are limited to one hour to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy.
